Vintage Wine Reviews

Thursday, February 21, 2008

At Château Plaisance presenting our wines and receiving a review takes time. From the time of harvest until it is ready to be bottled, spans a two year period. Following bottling, the wine must wait another few months before tasting. The trade magazines will continue to taste and comment for years and years to come. Fine red wines require patience.

Here are two reviews by “Vintage Wine Reviews”:

  1. Château Plaisance 1998 St Emilion Grand Cru
From the good 1998 vintage and scoring 87/100 Parker points, this superb red wine is "A supple, rich St.-Emilion made by Patrick Valette, the 1998 Plaisance exhibits aromas and flavors of spicy cherry and new oak. It is fleshy, with admirable depth."

  2. Château Plaisance 1985 Saint Émilion Grand Cru
From the outstanding 1985 vintage, this lovely St Emilion Grand Cru has an attractive, complex bouquet of minerals, blackcurrants, blueberries and smoke and is a pure, ripe, sizeable wine with moderate levels of tannin.
