The week has begun well for us. The gold metallic capsules arrived today. They compliment our newly designed 2005 Grand Cru and Bordeaux Superior labels.
Just before lunch our good neighbor arrived with a bottle of Crémant d'Alsace to celebrate his recent success and upcoming trip to New York. Having friends to help keep us sane while numerous projects are in the air is one of many things to be thankful for.
With the clear blue skies and vine bursting with growth, it seems appropriate to commence breaking ground for the new building. Hopefully we will begin excavation for the barrel cellar this week. The design includes space for 400 barrels, 200,000 bottles and an office overlooking the vines. It is essential that we continue to improve and expand if we expect to produce the best wine possible.
Presently we have over 300 barrels (new and one year old). They completely fill the present barrel room. The 2007 vintage is in the barrels now, developing beautifully.
It is time to prepare for the 2008 vintage.
Break ground!
