Tasting Report for Chateau Plaisance Wines 2005
- Oenologist: Jean-Philippe Fort / Mr. Rolland
- Grand Cru: Dark garnet-red color, without evolution note. Complex nose, vinous with mellow notes, spices and mocha. Full in the mouth, rich, powerful with very present tannins, But very well “wrapped” meaning that this wine was very well finished in the barrels. Promising wine, to keep and discover.
- Bordeaux Superior: “Built wine” Black fruit notes with a light wooded character in final. A Pleasure wine.
Conclusion: Two wines from a great year, with an interesting keeping potential."
Well, this report doesn't reflect half of it. Fine wine is always evolving. He gave us this report before we bottled last year. I will have to have him taste them at present and see if his new tasting report reflects the obvious development these wines are achieving. To me, they are both pure nectar.
